FHT’s annual Training Conference has officially started! We’re super excited for you to see what this year has to offer.
Clare Riddell, has very kindly provided us with more information on herself and her practise for you to read before watching her webinar, ‘Why Didn’t I Think of That?’.
Clare Riddell – Pressure Point
I’d like to introduce myself and my clinic and am very excited about the FHT online conference in May – being part of this as a speaker, but also gaining some CPD myself.
I trained 25 years ago as a sports massage therapist, already holding a sport science degree and teacher training in PE and Maths. Sport has always been my passion from competing at high levels in athletics, martial arts and rugby to working with a whole range of clients at my clinic and helping them improve physically (and sometimes mentally!)
I taught sports massage, anatomy, injury and health and fitness at Loughborough College for 21 years and opened my private training clinic based in Arnold, Nottingham in 2013. I absolutely love my job and having the combination of helping clients (up to 20 per week) and teaching such a variety of students gives me the best job satisfaction.
Pressure Point Training Clinic is becoming an established name for a great place to train. It began with VTCT Level 3 and Level 4 sports massage qualifications and has grown to 28 different courses (from 1 day CPD to 12 day awards) and a variety of excellent tutors teaching them. A special USP that comes with every course is a homemade cake, combining two of my passions – teaching and baking.
John Gibbons teaches spinal manipulation and specific joint masterclasses, Daniel Lawrence from RockTape teaches RockPods and RockBlades, Claire Stone tutors on the Scar Therapy Course and Jeni Broughton passionately passes on her holistic knowledge of hot stones, reflexology, fire cupping, MLD and pregnancy massage.
I have growing social media presence and am currently creating content for Pressure Point Training YouTube channel which has just surpassed 1 million views. NAQI Skincare are now sponsoring my clinic, so that every student enrolling on a course will receive this wonderful massage medium.
Things are going from strength to strength, presenting at the Therapy Expo in the NEC, being nominated for the VTCT Excellence Awards in the Small Training Provider category and with a book in the pipeline.
To me, my work and life are in unison and having just proposed to my partner in Egypt this January, she is as keen as I to develop the business to its maximum potential. As Confucius wrote “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
