FHT Training Conference: Supporting Women on Their Fertility Journey: A new therapy Reproductive Reiki Reflex

Alexandra Skanderowicz – Rebalanceyou

Since 2018, I have developed a real passion for supporting women through their fertility journeys. As a holistic therapist, I have witnessed how emotionally and physically challenging trying to conceive can be, particularly when the journey doesn’t follow the path a woman had hoped for.

Fertility challenges can affect so much more than the physical body. The uncertainty, anxiety, disappointment and pressure can take their toll on emotional wellbeing, relationships and confidence. I wanted to create a treatment that offered women not only physical support but also a safe space to talk, feel heard and reconnect with themselves.

This passion led me to develop Reproductive Reiki Reflex, my own approach combining reflexology, Reiki and holistic support tailored to each individual woman.

My work focuses on supporting relaxation, emotional wellbeing and the body’s natural processes, while recognising that every woman’s experience is unique. Sessions provide time to explore stress, menstrual cycles, hormonal symptoms and the emotional impact of fertility challenges, including the trauma that can follow miscarriage. Alongside treatment, I encourage women to consider self-care, mindfulness and lifestyle choices that may help them feel more supported throughout their journey.

Over the years, I have been privileged to hear some incredible stories from clients. I have supported women who have seen their menstrual cycles return, others who have noticed improvements in their hormonal symptoms, and women who have sought support after years of trying to conceive. I have also had the joy of hearing pregnancy and birth news from clients who have travelled difficult roads to reach that point.

Some women have even returned to me after welcoming their first baby, hoping to begin the journey towards a second.

Every story is different, and I believe it is important to recognise that complementary therapies cannot guarantee conception or replace medical fertility care. However, they can offer an additional source of emotional support, relaxation and time devoted entirely to a woman’s wellbeing.

For me, one of the most important aspects of this work is helping women feel that they are not alone. Fertility journeys can sometimes leave women feeling that their bodies have let them down. My aim is to help them feel listened to, supported and empowered, whatever stage of their journey they are experiencing.

My passion has grown to the point where I now offer Reproductive Reiki Reflex as a course for other therapists, sharing my approach and encouraging more practitioners to support women with compassion, understanding and holistic care.

I am delighted to be speaking at the FHT Conference webinar this October, where I look forward to sharing more about my experiences, the development of Reproductive Reiki Reflex and the importance of supporting women beyond the physical aspects of fertility.

If there is one message I hope to share, it is that fertility support is needed and should be there for the whole woman: her body, her mind and her unique journey.
