Jennifer Wayte, President of FHT, recently contributed to a massage article published in Arthritis Digest magazine, in which readers are pointed to the FHT’s Accredited Register if looking for a therapist.
Amongst other things, the two-page article covers different types of massage, the potential benefits of treatment to people affected by arthritis, the existing evidence base and what to expect during a treatment.
Arthritis Digest magazine has a circulation of 107,000 and is published six times a year. It summarises the latest research in the arthritis arena, along with reviews, food, products and services, and celebrity interviews.
According to NHS Choices,[1] around 10 million people in the UK have arthritis. The most common types are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, with the latter affecting more than 400,000.
