Looking after the interests of our members has been at the heart of the FHT since it was founded in 1962.
As the industry continues to evolve, it is our job as the UK’s leading professional association to keep our members up to date with any changes affecting their therapy practice – from health and safety, to law and regulation. This involves working closely with key decision makers within health and social care, employment, education and other sectors that impact professional therapists, so that we can be sure our members’ interests are represented at every level.
One therapist alone cannot mould or influence the industry, which is why joining the FHT is so important. As a collective organisation, the FHT can voice its members’ views where it counts.
It is also our mission to make the public more aware of the FHT and its members, by advertising in both magazines and online. Adverts appear in titles which appeal to people we believe are more likely to think holistically, who want to look after themselves and who actively consider a range of solutions to health concerns. These people are more likely to consider a body worker to help with their muscle strain, or an energy therapist for their stress, rather than reach for ‘off the shelf’ solutions.
