FHT appoints new Executive Director

FHTs Executive Director Jane LongThe Federation of Holistic Therapists  is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Jane Long as Executive Director.

Jane’s most recent role before joining the FHT was Executive Director of Corporate Services for a large housing association. Prior to that, she worked across a number of sectors, including further education, media and financial services, as well as having been part of the Executive Team at an NHS Trust.

Jane also comes to the FHT with first-hand experience of the therapy industry, as a former complementary therapist and Reiki Master. She took several years out of her business roles to focus on providing counselling support and healing, and running courses in reiki, as well as personal development and meditation.

Speaking of her new role, Jane says: ‘I am thrilled to join the FHT and to have the opportunity to build on the association’s strength and lead it through its next stage of evolution and growth. I care passionately about people and the many benefits that complementary, beauty and sports therapies have to offer.

‘With the largest Accredited Register of complementary therapists to be independently approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, I can see lots of exciting opportunities ahead for FHT, particularly in the field of healthcare. There are also lots of interesting developments in education that we are also keen to explore.’

Paul Battersby, FHT’s President, comments: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Jane on board. With her professional background and real passion to do all she can to ensure FHT members are recognised as the ‘go-to-therapists’ for the public, employers and care commissioners, we’re confident that she’s the right person for the job.’
