In your own words…

We provided space at the end of the survey, for members to provide feedback about the FHT’s Accredited Register, or any matter relating to the FHT. Here are just a handful of the 100+ additional comments we received…

‘For me […] I feel it is a step in the right direction to give the public as a whole the confidence in us as a serious profession.’

‘I feel that being on the register I am proving that I have a high standard of training and I continue to develop my skills. It also gives the public the confidence to approach me for treatments.’

‘Personally speaking I think the FHT’s Accredited Register is the cornerstone for any therapist who works with private clients and GP’s. Putting the ‘professional’ back into ‘holistic therapy’.

‘As I am now nearly 70 years old I am not as quick on my PC as some youngsters, but that doesn’t mean that I am not extremely proud to be fully qualified and accepted on the Accredited Register, just as I am very proud that I have carried out over 500 home reflexology and reiki treatments to hospice patients and their carers in my local community.’

‘It seems that more people are recognising the register, however local GPs still have a long way to go to recognise the benefits of alternative therapies.’

‘The FHT are the largest, most well established and respected, of the professional organisations in this industry. Proud to be a member.’

‘I think at the moment the accreditation is positive and reflects the industry is helping raise standards/protect the public, but I also think that for clients it is just as much  personal recommendation of others and word of mouth.’

*These statistics are based on 637 survey responses received by 18 November, 2015, from FHT members listed on the FHT Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register.
