This September, the FHT was delighted to attend two major events aimed at professional therapists.
The first was Professional Beauty North, which took place at Manchester Central (formerly known as G-Mex), on 11 and 12 October. A reported 15,000 professionals, tutors and students attended the show across both days, to discover new product launches from the industry’s key brands and gain valuable CPD through a range of seminars and workshops.
The FHT headed up a special Holistic Programme, with talks from a number of our Vice-presidents: Bharti Vyas gave a talk on beauty in pregnancy; Shailu Karia on preparing the client’s body for exercise; Cheryl Cole on facial massage; and Paul Battersby (with Jon Hobbs) on cosmetic acupuncture. FHT’s President, Jennifer Wayte, was also available all weekend, to speak to members, students and tutors on FHT’s main exhibition stand, and at a Careers Fair, held on the Sunday.
On 26 and 27 September, it was then off to Olympia, London, to attend the 13th edition of camexpo, aimed specifically at practitioners with an interest in complementary and natural health.
FHT Vice-president, Mary Dalgleish, provided a talk on ayurvedic foot massage and as with Professional Beauty North, staff once again enjoyed meeting members and talking to those keen to learn more about the benefits of joining the FHT. A special thank you to FHT accredited course provider, Paul Lewis, who joined us to have his picture taken, holding his Highly Commended trophy for 2015 FHT Accredited Course Provider.
Thank you also to all those members who came to speak to us at the FHT stand – we hope you enjoyed the shows.
