Complementary therapy service launched at NGS Macmillan Wellbeing Centre

A new complementary therapy service is being launched at The NGS Macmillan Wellbeing Centre at North Bristol NHS Trust’s Southmead Hospital, allowing the many benefits complementary therapies provide to be experienced by cancer patients and their carers. Set in landscaped gardens, the centre provides a haven for anyone living with a cancer diagnosis who needs advice, support and information.

The centre is for families and carers as well as people with cancer, and the team provide support by appropriately signposting visitors to the services available, as well as running a weekly timetable of activities. The timetable includes mindfulness, relaxation, yoga, creative expression and a walking group.

The Wellbeing Centre is hosting a one-day CPD Cancer Care Workshop (10 points), which will be run by FHT accredited lecturer Marie Duggan on Friday 5th June 2015. The workshop is aimed at working within an integrated medicine model, enabling practitioners to gain confidence, knowledge and skills in adapting their treatments for cancer patients and carers.

A concessionary rate of £80 is available for the first five FHT members wishing to attend the days training (normal price £95).

To book, contact Marie Duggan at marie@butterflytouchtherapies.com or call 07712 703753.

I’d be interested in this, but can’t do this date. Could you inform me if there are any further dates.
    Thanks
