Local Therapist wins National Award at Penny Brohn Centre

Portishead – 4th November 2024.   Kate Oldham, a highly experienced Complimentary Therapist and founder of My Simple Steps, has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Complimentary Therapist of the Year by The Federation of Holistic Therapists. This recognition celebrates Kate’s unwavering dedication to improving the lives of patients coping with long-term conditions, particularly those affected by cancer. 

Kate’s expertise lies in cancer rehabilitation, scar therapy, and lymphoedema management. Her therapeutic practice is based at the serene treatment rooms of Penny Brohn UK in Ham Green. Beyond her private practice, Kate actively collaborates with several charities, including Bosom Buddies Bristol, to provide essential support and treatments to breast cancer patients. 

“I’m incredibly honoured to receive this award,” says Kate Oldham. “It’s a testament to the power of holistic therapies in supporting individuals with long-term conditions. By combining my clinical expertise with a compassionate approach, I strive to empower patients and enhance their overall well-being.” 

Kate’s commitment to her clients and the broader community extends beyond her clinical practice. She actively volunteers with various charities, offering group talks and wellbeing support to individuals facing challenges. Additionally, she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Lymphoedema at the University of Glasgow, further solidifying her expertise in this specialised field.
