Aromatherapy for arthritis and rheumatism

As part of Aromatherapy Awareness Week (8 -14 June), we share a feature contributed by FHT member Kate Mulliss about how aromatherapy can be used to support people with arthritis and rheumatism.

In this feature, Kate explores what it is like for clients living with a joint condition and how aromatherapy can help to relieve the pain associated with these conditions.

Kate said, ‘As there is no cure for arthritic conditions, the aim is to help clients ease symptoms of pain and stiffness, and to address any psychological aspects by attempting to alleviate changes in their perception of and ability to cope with pain. Once we are aware of our clients’ conditions and concerns, we have the potential to create a tailor-made blend to address and alleviate those issues.’
