FHT members can now download a leaflet that outlines the key findings of a special report published by the Professional Standards Authority and Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) in November 2017, called ‘Untapped Resources: Accredited Registers in the Wider Workforce’.
Amongst other things, the leaflet highlights that:
- ‘The public health challenges the UK faces are deep-rooted and severe’;
- ‘Improving our nation’s public health is critical to reduce our reliance on welfare and healthcare’, and that;
- ‘The Accredited Registers workforce of 85,000 professionals [which includes more than 10,000 FHT members] is well placed to help promote public health’.
It also highlights that nearly a quarter of the practitioners who are part of the Accredited Registers workforce are complementary therapists, and that approximately one in four of the general UK population access the services of an AR practitioner at some point.
