People all around the world are taking part in ‘The Smiling Flower’ Story Massage, written especially for the children and teachers in the tsunami-destroyed area of Rikuzentakata in Japan. In April 2012, FHT Fellow and accredited training provider, Mary Atkinson, worked with Cocoro to introduce this Story Massage, which has proved so effective and popular that the local people are continuing the project.

The story is based on the healing power of nature and acts as a poignant reminder of the continued suffering in the aftermath of the tsunami. It has even reached a township in South Africa, where the children greeted the children in Japan by holding red hearts.

Two Story Massages, ‘The Smiling Flower’ and ‘Gull Flies to Meet his Friends’, are now available on DVD as easy-to-follow demonstrations in both English and Japanese.

The DVD costs only £6 (plus P&P), with all profits going to Cocoro to help continue their valuable work in supporting the on-going mental healthcare needs of the local people. To buy your DVD, please contact Mary here »
