
Acupuncture or counselling may improve depression
Many patients with depression are interested in non-pharmacological therapies, however there is limited evidence supporting the use of acupuncture or counselling for depression in primary care.
A randomised controlled trial has found that in a primary care setting, acupuncture or counselling combined with usual care, provided some benefits after three months, compared to usual care alone.
