Macmillan Cancer Support is trialling a new Skype service for those affected by cancer. This new service will enable live chat with a ‘Buddy’ who understands and can offer support.
Buddies are people who have been affected by cancer in some way. They are Macmillan-trained volunteers who will be able to offer emotional support when you’re going through a tough time, or just listen when you need a chat.
“There are times when we all could do with someone who will listen and help where possible. I have been there, and helped people with many different types of cancer.” – Sandra
“During my own journey I had excellent help from a buddy and over the last two years I have buddied a few cancer patients. There is always an “ear” ready to listen.” – Alan
