Doonya is a Bollywood dance-based workout programme and the latest growing craze working its way across the USA.  It is a mix of dance styles including Bolly-Pop, Bhangra, classical and folk, with a few extra minutes of the programme dedicated to strength training and core exercises. Each element targets different parts of the body, creating a well-rounded and effective workout.

Founded in 2005 by Priya Pandya, a certified yoga instructor, and Kajal Desai, a certified fitness trainer, Doonya started out as a Bollywood dance troupe, and graduallly transformed into a fitness class as Pandya and Desai noticed that students were losing weight and toning up.

Classes are now taught in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and New York, with further plans for classes in Los Angeles in 2013. 

Although classes are only availabe in the U.S. at the moment, anyone interested in the Doonya workout can purachse the DVD from Amazon.
