Take Part in Meaningful May

Action for Happiness has released it’s monthly calendar, with prompts for you to get the most meaning and purpose out of the month of May.

Like the other months, the charity’s calendar for Meaningful May includes daily suggestions to help you gain perspective and prioritise what matters most.

Below, we’ve taken some of the calendars prompts and have given some small points of inspiration to get you started:

‘Take a step towards an important goal, no matter how small’

If this seems daunting, try writing down a list of goals that you wish to achieve over the next month (or two) and start from there. This could be that you’d like to gain one more client, add a therapy to your business or become more regular at posting on social media. It’s important to make sure these are achievable goals and to remember to take one day at a time.

‘Get outside and notice the beauty in nature’

With the weather being up and down in Britain, it can sometimes stop us getting outside and enjoying the different seasons. But there is beauty in all types of weather, especially in spring time! This could be as simple as having your morning coffee outside. Whether you read, journal or plan your day in the morning, take it outside (if weather permits) and soak up the aromas in your first hour, whatever they may be. If your schedule is a bit tighter, how about fitting in a quick stroll in your lunch break or any point throughout the day – even as little as just 10 minutes can have a huge impact on both your psychical and mental wellbeing.

‘Share a quote you find inspiring to help boost others’

It’s always nice to see a happy, inspiring quote during our daily scroll. Here at the FHT, we are continuously sharing quotes on our social media to help you stay inspired. If you’re stuck, reshare one of ours, or sit down for an hour in lunch and create your own! Words have a lot of meaning and motivational quotes can provide us with a quick and timely burst of wisdom to get our focus back. Often a quote can offer inspiration for the week, and inspire us when our normal motivation has lapsed.
