Sure’s Run to the Beat sparks new generation of runners
Over half of general entries have been sold for Sure Run to the Beat, London’s music 10k, with almost 40% of entrants signing up for their first ever 10k running event.
With over half the places available already filled, participants are advised to enter as soon as possible to avoid missing out on what will be another fantastic year for London’s most unique running event. Visit www.runtothebeat.com to enter.
Run to the Beat is renowned for attracting runners of all abilities from experienced club athletes to complete novices taking on a new challenge. The 2014 event will once again spark a new generation of runners as almost 40% of entrants will be taking part in their first ever 10k running event.
The event spent six successful years as a half-marathon, hosting 96,000 runners and headline acts including Jessie J, Calvin Harris, DJ Fresh and Tinie Tempah, but returns in 2014 as a shorter, more accessible 10k distance to give 10k runners the chance to experience the epic music filled run with live DJs pumping out motivational tunes around the route.
The event will start and finish in Wembley Park, home to legendary Wembley Stadium and arena that now offers great food, great shopping and great events, and see the route take in Fryent Country Park and other areas in Brent.
Managing Director James Robinson said: “We delighted to see entries selling so quickly after changing things up for 2014. It’s great to see so many first timers booking their place on the start line. Having hosted half marathons for the past six years we felt it was important to engage with a new running audience and give 10k runners or those with 10k as a goal, the chance to experience our unique sell-out event.”
Sure Run to the Beat is an epic running event which motivates and entertains runners with live DJ stations around the route. Taking place on the 14th September, 15,000 participants will make their way around a brand new 10k course in Wembley Park, with a top headline act welcoming runners across the finish line ready for the event after-party.
Previous events boast a festival-worthy line-up including Jessie J, Calvin Harris, DJ Fresh and Tinie Tempah, Annie Mac, Reggie Yates, MTV Presenter Yemi, DJ Goldierocks, BBC radio and TV presenter Nihal, original acid house DJ Trevor Fung and Kerrang! Radio DJ Kate Lawler.
In 2013, alongside the thousands of charity and mass runners, BAFTA Award winning actress and Golden Globe nominee, Carey Mulligan (The Great Gatsby, Drive, Never Let Me Go) lined up in support of Alzheimer’s Society and brought hubby Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons along for support.
While Zero Dark Thirty actor Martin Delaney returned to the event for the fourth year, running for Kick4Life and classical singer Laura Wright joined the unique half marathon running for Nordoff Robbins a music therapy charity.
New title sponsors Sure provide fantastic brand alignment for the event with their DO:MORE philosophy that inspires people everywhere to set goals, commit to the things that move them and pursue their passions. The product’s unique motionSENSE™ technology, also enables people to DO:MORE by responding directly to body movement, so the more you move and the more you do, the more it works.
