Lack of sleep and injuries in adolescent athletes

A research paper published by the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics showed that young athletes who slept (on average) less than eight hours a night were more likely to have had an injury compared with those who slept for eight hours or more. For each additional grade in school, the young athletes were more likely to have suffered an injury. Strength training and participation were also associated with injury.
